A prolific author, Dave’s published works include The World Atlas of Whisky, which explores more than 500 distilleries worldwide, charting the flavour of whisky around the world. First published in 2010, the third edition of the World Atlas was published in 2024, rewritten to reflect the changing face of the international whisky industry. His other books include Whisky: The Manual, Gin: The Manual, Rum: The Manual, The Way of Whisky and A Sense of Place.
As well as his written work, Dave has made films include Cuba in a Bottle and The Amber Light, the latter of which was an award-winning exploration of whisky and Scottish culture. A spirits educator who teaches both professionals and the public, Dave runs regular training and educational visits around the world. He also acts as a taster and consultant on whisky products for brands.
