Hall of Fame

Gordon Broderick has been inducted into Whisky Magazine’s Hall of Fame, at the recent ceremony held in Adelaide, Australia.

The 43rd inductee to receive Whisky Maga zine’s most prestigious accolade, Broderick is a deserving recipient, having served the whisky and wider drinks industry in Australia for more than 40 years.

Holding his most recent position of executive director of the Distilled Spirits Industry Council of Australia until he recently retired, Broderick was instrumental in the Australian spirit industry’s rise to prominence, perhaps most notably by pushing through tax concessions for the liquor industry in the 1970s.

Giving industry voices a platform, Broderick has worked tirelessly to secure the best deal for those he represents and can now surely look proudly on the growing strength of Australian spirits. Within the Whisky Magazine Hall of Fame, Broderick now sits alongside his fellow Australian Bill Lark, who was inducted in 2015. Few could argue with the impact that both figures have had on the industry.
